OK Darius! I will only outline the steps that lead to a successful install.
1) Create New Virtual Machine - Custom Install
2) VMware May TP Hardware compatibility (bug)
3) Install OS from physical device (/dev/sr0 in this case). Windows 7 x64 detected.
4) Skipped easy install with key/ user password entered.
5) Chose EFI firmware
6) Press enter to take defaults - including SCSI LSI controller (may want to look at the test here)
6) Create SATA disk - ( not recommended SCSI disk).
7) Boot Windows 7 OS (does go through the loading files screen).
8) Continue normal installation (except for no prompt to boot off CD if a key is pressed)
9) Enter key after defining user computer name etc.
10) Shutdown VM
11) Choose enter BIOS setup - EFI boot screen displayed. This seems normal to me but since I don't have a EFI host motherboard I can tell for sure.
I would have to reinstall Windows 7 from scratch to make screen prints of each step but I then I tested Centos 7 again (see following post)
